Our Store

Family owned, family operated...since 1946.

THE CANFIELD STORY BEGINS IN 1946

Canfield's Sporting Goods, family owned and locally operated, was founded in 1946 by returning war veteran LeRoy Canfield. In 1976 Richard Canfield, Leroy's son, became the second generation of Canfield to own the store. Richard stewarded Canfield's Sporting Goods through its largest expansion yet as they moved into their present location at 84th & Center in 1994.

Canfield's today is Omaha's largest locally owned and family operated rugged outdoor sporting goods store. It carries an impressive array of camping, fishing, hunting, workwear, work boots, hiking boots, paintball, air soft, BB and pellet guns, binoculars and telescopes, canoes and kayaks, rugged outdoor gear, and of course true to its roots, military surplus. It features brand names like The North Face, Columbia, Mountain Hardwear, Carhartt, Dickies, Vasque, Kelty, Marmot, Patagonia, Life is Good, and many other brands.

In January of 2014 Richard Canfield retired and handed the business over to a former employee, Scott Marble. Scott worked for Canfield's for 10 years before going out into the sporting goods industry; gaining extensive experience on both the retail and manufacturer level.

Scott and his family now run and operate Canfield's in the same family tradition it was founded on 68 years ago.
